Bio

Award-winning arranger and performer/multi-instrumentalist, Greg Blair has had the opportunity to play in notable venues around the world from the northeastern U.S. to Ireland, Spain, Brazil and Japan. As both a music director and sideman he has vast experience in a wide variety of genres, from funk to pop, folk, jazz, soul, orchestral music, big band, top 40 and beyond. He has performed with Frankie Valli, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Pauletta Washington, Diane Louie, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, The Four Freshman, and countless local, regional and national acts.

Growing up outside of Boston, Massachusetts, Greg began with the alto saxophone at age 8 and began gigging on everything from tenor sax to drum set before the end of high school. Later he pursued a formal education at UMass, Amherst's Honors College, graduating with a BA in Music. After a few busy years in the Boston music scene, he moved to his present home of New York City to further his musical pursuits.

Currently he can be seen with Atomic Funk Project, Upstate, Sawyer Lawson, his own band Blair & Company and as a music director and sideman in the Greater NYC area and beyond.

As a writer, continuing projects include producing songs for film and freelance arrangements (horn section + full-band). His unique, New Orleans-inspired version of Pomp and Circumstance has been played at universities around the country including UMass Amherst, Michigan State University, Hobart & William Smith, and more.
